Roxana Pierce is a transactional and relationship lawyer whose practice focuses on institutional investors, international trade, real estate transactions, and project development. She has represented clients in more than 55 countries with extensive experience in the Middle East, Europe, Russia, the former Soviet Union, the Caribbean, India and the Far East.
Ms. Pierce’s recent practice focus has been on counseling institutional investors on recourse available to them when the investors have been victims of frauds and other schemes. Her diverse clientele include international institutional investors in Europe and the Middle East and domestic public funds across the United States. Her counsel to these clients is seasoned by several years’ experience in complex civil litigation and more than 15 years in the field of international project development and finance as a project analyst and corporate counsel to project development and finance companies. When her practice focus was development, she spearheaded contract negotiations for hundreds of development projects, including several valued at over $1 billion, and typically conducted her negotiations with the leadership of foreign governments and the leadership of Fortune 500 corporations, foreign and domestic. Her projects included mass transportation systems in Central Asia and elsewhere, five-star resort developments in the Caribbean, property purchases for development in the Caymans, hotel and resort developments in the Middle East, Russia and the former Soviet Union, and a commercial complex in Korea.
Ms. Pierce is a member of the bars for the District of Columbia and West Virginia. She is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America and the Court of International Trade. Ms. Pierce has been awarded a Certification of Accomplishment by the Export-Import Bank of the United States for her accomplishments in international trade finance. In addition, she is a member of the American Bar Association and the American Society of International Law.
After receiving honors for her achievements in the study of French at the Sorbonne University in France, Roxana attended Pepperdine University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and Intercultural Relations in 1988. Ms. Pierce obtained a Paralegal Certificate with a focus on corporate law in 1989 from the University of San Diego before obtaining her Juris Doctorate from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego in 1994, where her focus was on international law.
Ms. Pierce is fluent in English and Farsi and has a working knowledge of French and Turkish.
Ms. Pierce works closely with several charitable organizations throughout the Washington, DC, area, servicing the needs of their constituents.
